At the root
I have therefore always kept in mind to establish myself as a winegrower in order to go further, in a concrete and sincere approach, in line with my convictions.
I seek to practice a real agriculture of the Living which gives a central place to Nature. In short, we are only the witnesses of this incredible experience that is Life...
So, let's give ourselves the chance to welcome all the surprises it has in store for us!
The vineyard
The first harvest certified AB will come with the 2023 vintage, in particular on the parcel of the place called "Côte de Brouilly" which, by its exceptional location and the care that I bring to it, will constitute my guide in the continuous improvement of my practices. : towards the best of the Worlds…
The perpetual search for quality led me to restructure the original vineyard and to plant the Chardonnay grape variety on part of the plots located on the clay-limestone soils of the estate. To the production of current red wines will therefore be added from the 2024 harvest a Beaujolais Saint Lager White. First steps towards recognition of our Brouilly terroirs on a white grape variety? The rest of the story is to be invented!
Winemaking
"It's in the vineyard that most of it happens!" ". I remember all the talented winegrowers I met who kept repeating this sentence with absolute accuracy. It is with great pleasure and emotion that we welcome each year in the cellar these grapes bursting with life that will give us the best. Manual harvesting at good maturity, meticulous plot selection and careful sorting are the prerequisites for vinification at Château de La Perrière. The vinification of our wines takes place mainly in concrete vats, by a gentle fermentation where the only interventions are limited to temperature control, pumping over and light punching down, thus allowing the terroir to express itself in its greatest sincerity.
Only our cuvée from Côte de Brouilly, a place called "Le Pavé", "Un Jardin sur La Colline" comes from full fermentation in 500-litre barrels, extended by aging for one year in these same containers. to give time to time, and to soften the tannins of our different cuvées, the aging is carried out in the cellars of the château, either in concrete vats or in 500-litre oak barrels for a minimum of nine months. bottling is carried out with care at the estate, respecting the specificity of each of our cuvées and thus preserving their singular characters. With each vintage, it is our know-how and our passion for these exceptional terroirs that we want to pass on to you in each of the bottles we offer. It is now up to you to continue with kindness the path we have traced...
